Dear Friends of Dan and Leslie,
Last week at the CSCA National Specialty Hunt Test, Dan collapsed due to heart related issues and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Dan is currently stable but his medical situation is still very serious as the doctor's attempt to stabilize his condition so that he can undergo triple bypass surgery. The plan for now is to have Dan return home from California with Leslie for the surgery as soon as he is well enough to travel. Even best case, Dan faces a long road to full recovery. As friends of Dan and Leslie, we are asking for your generousity to help them through this difficult time. Those of you who know Dan know that he has spent a lifetime giving to others and helping those in need. He and Leslie have bred and shown more champions than one could count under their 'Cameo' kennel name. Dan was a pioneer in the development of spaniel hunt tests and running Clumbers in the field. He and Leslie bred the first best in show winning Clumber to earn a field title. More recently, Dan has been the chair for the past 10 years for the annual four day Labor Day hunt test cluster; volunteering hours of his time to make these events a success. He is also a past president of CSCA and he and Leslie have put on two National specialty shows for the club. We hope that at this difficult time that we can rally around Dan and let him know that we care. Dan and Leslie did not ask for any assistance but we thank you for helping if you can!
