PHASE II OF THIS CAMPAIGN
Hello friends and family:
I offically am revising the Campaign Goal amount for my friend Carolyn. If you recall, she had a mouth full of horrible teeth and needed every one pulled and replaced with dentures. We raised enough for the first round---the uppers -- in record time (thank you to all who donated from the bottom of my heart) and she had that work done in June. She just went back and had to have them refitted -- and got an estimate from the oral surgeon for Phase II. Because she has to have bone removed in order for them to fit, the next session will cost approximately $2500 plus refitting costs (around $320 a fitting). She is not sleeping at night worrying how to get the money - which is NOT helping her other health issues one bit :( So let's start this phase of the campaign off with a bang---I am confident we can have her all fixed and much healthier by Halloween!!!! That is MY goal---raising the additional $$$$ by October 31st. Won't you help a little today? I myself have to have an implant and know how costly that is---thank the good Lord I have dental insurance that can pay almost half of that and I can afford to pay on the rest of it: I am blessed. Carolyn...is not so fortunate---and I don't want her to lose sleep at night worrrying about this. She is precious to me...she is precious to the world :) Donate as much or as little as you can. This site is SAFE and you may remain anonymous if you want to (I haven't passed on any names to Carolyn yet). I have a forever friend who needs help. Unfortunately, I cannot do what I would like to do - my financial situation isn't much better than hers at the moment. That is why I am going to Go Fund Me (actually Go Fund Carolyn). She is my age, 62, and is desperately wanting to get back into the work force. She lives in Florida and I live in Ohio --so we don't even have the close proximity that would help support her. Both parents are dead and she has very little extended family. This is a brilliant person --she holds a Ph.D. in Education --that life has had its way with her. Negatively. She never married nor had any children. All she owns is a little red car that is way old and breaks down every month it seems. She makes her living now being a nanny to a family, making very little (but gives her a place to live). She would like to get a job and move out on her own so she could work fulltime at least until she qualifies for Social Security and Medicare in three years (she is entitled). She is on the goverment insurance but everyone knows that does not cover much. She has cataracts in both eyes that need removed immediately, new glasses, and has to be seen by the heart doctor for heart rhythm issues: all have been put off for two years. Then last night, as she was at a neighbor's house trying to earn a few extra dollars by dog and cat sitting, one of the pets got under her feet, tripped her, and she knocked out her front tooth. This will never do for job hunting! When she went to the Emergency Dental Clinic, the dentist told her that her mouth is full of bad teeth and for her health (especially for her heart health) she needs all of them pulled and dentures set in. When I spoke with her today, I asked how much she would need to accomplish all her medical and dental goals at this time. She figured it out according to estimates: approximately $6,000.00 Please help Carolyn: together we can for her! Poverty happens. Homelessness happens. Unemployment happens. Older age happens. By the grace of God go I...or you...We will send pictures of her new teeth, too :)
