Please Help Save My Life!

In 2005, after almost 3 months with pneumonia, I was diagnosed with a rare neuroendecrine disease called Carcinoid Syndrome. The doctors found a tumor blocking my bronchial tube and they had to remove most of my right lung along with 2 of my bronchial tubes.

I continued to have health issues like random throat, facial, and mouth swelling, but nothing major until 2 months ago when I came down with a bad case of Bronchitis. I went through 2 rounds of antibiotics and 2 rounds of steroids. I was doing much better until I tried to stop the steroids. Every time we lowered my dose, my throat and mouth would swell. After numerous ER trips I went to an ENT (Ear, Nose, & Throat) specialist who promptly informed me that this was another manifestation of Carcinoid Syndrome and that I would need to go back to my specialist for treatment.

Last time I was sick, I didn't go to a specialist, or an oncologist, or even an endocrinologist. So I went through the whole testing process this time only to be told that they cannot find the tumor. Even though I am near some of the greatest hospitals in the United States I cannot get in to see a Carcinoid Specialist. Now, I've been given the opportunity to travel to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota for treatment but I need your help to get there!
