Help drive change for an Ethiopian Man

Five years ago on a trip to Ethiopia we met our driver Abey. Since then, we have been back four more times hiring him each time as our trusted driver. He has made our mission and adoption trips run so smoothly. Not only has he nagvigated us through Ehtiopia, but he has gone above and beyond to meet our every need. We formed a special bond with Abey... during which time we learned he has no family and his only way of making a living is driving adopted families around Addia Ababa for court and embassy. He does not own his own van... he has to rent a van each time he needs to work. In the end, all he earns are the tips because the price of renting a van is 90 US dollars per day. The same price it is to higher a driver for a day. Our desire is to buy Abey a van that he can own and make a living. In pricing vans, we have found that a ten year old van is the best way to go becuase the country charges a 100% tax on vehicles. A ten year old van in Ethiopia costs about $25,000- $30,000 that includes the 100% tax. If Abey can own his own van outright, this will provide him with a future that he can one day provide for a family. Help us provide a future for this man that he so greatly deserves.
