Hi my name is Mona, better known as Nanny to my beautiful little granddaughter. Kennedi was taken to the emergency room on October 8th because she was screaming in pain saying her left leg hurt and refused to walk on it. My daughter Sarah and my son in law Rhace made 9 visits to doctors trying to figure out what was wrong. On October 21st they brought Kennedi back to the emergency room and she was admitted. The Dr finally did a x-ray and found a spot on her left femur. They did a mri the next morning and found what they thought was a huge bone infection .She was immediately taken to surgery to have the infection removed. The tissue was sent off for a biopsy. The biopsy report came back on Thursday that it's cancer.Friday Kennedi went through another surgery to get more bone and tissue for further testing. We received the pathology report back today Kennedi has Ewing sarcoma bone cancer. She will go under another surgery tomorrow to put her Port in and to do a bone marrow sample. Our prayers at this time are that the cancer has not spread any where else. All of the test we have coming back will show us that hopefully it's just in her leg.She will do her first round of chemo this week. Her treatment plan consists of two more surgeries and 12+22 rounds of chemo. There are 3 types of chemo she will receive. One of them risks her having children when she gets older so doctors want to go ahead and retrieve some of her eggs for the future. My daughter and so -in-law have always worked to provide comfortable and loving home for Kennedi and her brother, Chandler, who is 14. Needless to say Sarah is staying with Kennedi around the clock while Rhace holding down his job but trying to be with Kennedi as much as possible. Burning the candle at both ends. They are exhausted and so very heartbroken. Kennedi means the world to all of us. She is beautiful, loving, and so very kind but being so strong. We don't know how strong she will remain with all that she is facing as a 3.5 year old. We ask that if God puts it on your heart, that you help their family in this very difficult time. Rhace and Sarah are trying to remain strong and positive for her. Any donation, big or small, will help tremendously.
