My cousin, Karen Ruiz, was a loving mom. Her ex, Herbert Nixon Flores, shot her in front of their 3 year old daughter in broad day light. My cousin tried her best to seek help and got a restraining order but still, the day before they were due in court, Herbert killed her and is now on the run.
Our family has endured so much throughout this time. Karen’s cousin just passed away and before we could even bury her, Herbert took Karen from us too. We are all heart broken and just so shocked at what has happened. But we have to be strong for our niece and nephew that are left without their mommy.
