Help communities in Africa obtain clean water

International Transformation Foundation, Inc., is a 501(C)(3) youth-centered non-profit organization helping African communities obtain access to reliable and affordable clean tap water while providing young Americans with unique educational, cultural, and social volunteering experiences.

we operate three initiatives:

The Kiosk: setting up water kiosks at schools in (African) communities, where school children must walk long distances to secure water for their families before or after school. It consists of partnering with a community school to set up onsite water kiosks with sustainable products for the students to transport water from school to their homes. The Kiosk is both an educational and profitable business teaching the students business and entrepreneurial skills while generating much-needed income for the school. It provides the entire community with clean water, improved sanitation, and health. In addition, its social business model develops community solidarity, local education, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Fountain: Consists of partnering with cities and municipalities in Africa to install sustainable drinking tap water refill stations in public places such as the marketplace, sports arenas, marketplace, parks, and bus stations so people to access clean drinking tap water free of charge.

The Trip: For every water Kiosk or Fountain project in Africa we work with young Americans (high school, college, university students and alumni) to take a leading role in coordinating the project, from planning, and implementation, to monitoring phases which also involve traveling to Africa where the project takes place, working alongside their counterparts at our local office and benefiting community members via an internship-like program. These students gain a unique cross-cultural experience, personal and professional growth.
