I NEED A WHEELCHAIR (student & intern)

Donation protected

ABOUT:
I am 38 and had an accident on May 18th, 2011 that left me with severe ambulatory issues. I changed my life for the better after having an epiphany in my hospital bed at SFGH. I started making major changes including going to college for the first time, volunteering, and doing outreach type work in San Francisco.
I have one more semester to complete my Drug & Alcohol Counseling Studies Certificate but plan to continue on with my education.
I volunteer & work for Syringe Access Services (a San Francisco Aids Foundation program). I also have been doing mt internship there. I have come a long way and done some great work in the name of harm reduction.
I will not let this stop me from doing this work even if I have to do it from a wheel chair.
MEDICAL:
May 18th - July 5th I was in hospital and had a total of 7 operations. December 10th -20th admitted back into SFGH for hardware infection and removal of the fusion that connected my foot to my leg in place of fibula. I have managed with my foot only being connected to my tibia and not being under my leg since then. I guess all the trauma from this many operations resulted in Chronic Ostiomeylitis (a chronic bone marrow infection) and this is why they could not just go back in and fix me up again. All the stress from my ankle not being alligned correctly and only being attached at tibia has resulted in a hardware failure which is forcing them to operate inspite of the bone marrow infection. I WILL BE HOSPITALIZED FOR THE SUMMER BREAK AND ENDURE 2-3 OR 4 MORE OPERATIONS. I WILL THEN BE BACK IN A WHEEL CHAIR FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS. HIGH RISK OF AMPUTATION.
NEEDS:
I am doing everything I can to ensure I can pay my rent and bills and hold it together while in hospital. I also need to get the type of manual wheelchair best for maintaining my work, school, volunteering, and life activities ( Quickie, TiLite, OR LIKE STYLE CHAIR.).
