The purpose of this page is to provide an avenue for delivering updates on Mrs. Minott's treatment and allow those who wish to donate an opportunity to make a donation to help cover the very large medical bills.

Dr. Dennis Minnott, the leader of A-QuEST Jamaica, has been instrumental in facilitating the pursuit of college education goals at home and abroad for countless young Jamaican scholars, many of whom have gone on to have successful careers.
In 2013 Mrs. Sandra Minott, his wife and mother of their two young girls, was diagnosed with Stage IV/metastatic colorectal cancer (MCRC). This devastating disease had already spread to her lungs and liver.
The outlook for MCRC without treatment is very poor, and available treatments to save Sandi's life are extremely costly. We, the members of A-QuEST have launched this GoFundMe campaign to raise money towards Mrs. Sandra Minott's cancer treatment.
The Minotts have researched the best treatment options for MCRC, and are determined that Sandi gets the most advanced therapy as they hope to give her more than a fighting chance to be cancer-free. These include FDA approved colon cancer drugs Xeloda and Irinotecan. Most of Sandi's treatment needs to be done at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, 5 hours and many miles away from her home in Port Antonio. Through their own means and the help of numerous family and friends, the Minotts have raised a significant amount of funds but this has only totaled to a small percentage of the amount that is needed. A significant portion of her medical expenses remain unpaid, and her ongoing treatment is anticipated to add to the cost of treatment. Through this GoFundMe campaign we are hoping to raise US$34,000 to cover Sandi's comprehensive cancer treatment.

The treatments are among the leading recommended chemotherapy for Stage IV (metastatic) colon cancer, and they are not without their challenges, but so far they have been working, thank GOD!
":On her last CT scan, the :tumors in her lungs were not apparent and those in her liver appeared to have been shrunken by about 60%. :In sum, both the chemotherapy and the surgery have yielded very good results and Sandi is feeling much better; she is functioning at about 85 percent of her normal strength and energy. In fact, she has regained about 72 lbs of the body weight that she lost during the most stressful stages of her illness in 2013. In practical terms, thank God, Sandi's life has been extended and she is happy.
[She needs to]: continue aggressive chemotherapy and to keep monitoring her progress by blood work, imaging and other techniques. Meeting these :requirements is financially challenging and : we are now lagging in the pace of her treatment.
