Fund in memory of Evelyne Stalzer

It was with immense sadness that we learned of the death of our colleague and friend, Ms. Evelyne Stalzer, this past Sunday, March  27, 2016.   Evelyne was an engineer-turned-teacher who brought her love of geometry and learning to her classroom, reaching a generation of RKA students over the past decade.  Evelyne was a teacher’s teacher, a brilliant mathematician who infused her lessons with insight, intelligence, and support for her students that touched all who had the pleasure of entering her classroom.  She brought her brain teasers, puzzles, hula hoops, and other math gizmos to bear in earning that which is the highest of praise to a math teacher - she made math ‘gettable’.  To her colleagues, she was always available as a mentor, bestowing her wisdom and advice, freely sharing lessons and insights. Evelyne is someone we WILL NEVER FORGET - she graced all who knew her with her presence.  

Evelyne brought an incredible dignity to a life filled with many obstacles.  She is survived by her 19 year old son, Elliot, who is now alone since his father also passed away prematurely several years ago. Elliot suffers from type 1 diabetes and is autistic, making the passing of both his parents all the more tragic.      
 
Unfortunately, Evelyn and her son’s health issues greatly impacted her financial resources and savings. In an effort to help, this fundraising page was created by Evelyne’s friends and colleagues to ensure that her final expenses are seen to and that her son receives the care and help he needs.
