Children dream of becoming scientists, ballerinas and princesses. Somewhere between our wide-eyed innocence and today’s responsibilities, many of us have found ourselves traveling a very different path. Throughout my life I have struggled with insecurities of never being good enough because of my parent’s situation and educational background . Yet, I have dared to dream. I am not a rocket scientist or a millionaire yet, but clear goals and steady execution have landed me in the position of a lifetime. I am pleased to be a role model for children who are being raised in similar backgrounds like myself
I am now, Miss Black Texas America CoEd , the realization of my long-time dream to be a positive influence on urban girls across Texas In this role, I have already shared my message of self-worth, educational values, progress through meaningful struggle to over a thousand young adults and children throughout the state. The journey has only begun. I will be competing for the title of Miss Black America CoEd this fall for opportunity to obtain over $20, 000 in scholarships. I ask that you join me in my quest, by becoming my Official Sponsor. I am currently pursuing my Master of Education at Houston Baptist University and the founder of iD.R.E.A.M. Inc. – an empowerment organization for lower income youth who have a desire to archive their dreams through Fine Arts, Math and Science, Language Arts and Mentorship. Becoming Miss Black America would not only award me tuition support, but would greatly expand my work to uplift a generation of underserved youth.
