LIZZIE AND HER GUIDE DOG KIMBER
Lizzie was born blind and with orthopedic diabilities 37 years ago. At age 16 she was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia (most painful medical diagnosis known, referred to as the suicie disease) due to a medical procedure on her left eye. This has been described as being like a "cattle prod" sticking in your head. The disease has gone in/out of remission for the last 21 years. She has had numerous surgries and medical procedures over her 37 years.
Lizzie received a BS degree in Psychology at Howard Payne University in 2002 and was also accepted into the Master's program at University of North Texas in 2003 and was able to complete one semester before the Trigeminal Neuralgia reared its ugly head again and she was unable to continue. She was able that same year to receive her first Guide Dog, Buffy, and they worked through the pain. Buffy passed in 2014 and Lizzie has just recently received her second Guide Dog, Kimber, from a very generous donation made in her behalf to K9's for Mobility in Cheyenne, Wy.
Lizzie's Trigeminal Neuralgia is in full mode at the present time due to her upper teeth needing to be removed due to decay from all the medications she has been on for this issue. She needs oral surgery implants. Her insurance will not pay since this is considered "dental", even though it is a medical necessity. The cost for getting this done is $27,500.
Any donation is appreciated and if you are unable to donate, please forward so others might donate. Thank you very much.
