To help provide clean air and water for the environment, the New Hartford Rotary has set a goal to purchase and plant no less than 1000 trees this Spring and Fall of 2021. We just placed an order for 200 seedling trees for delivery and planting by Arbor Day (April 30, 2021). As the funds permit, we will order more for Spring delivery.
Working with volunteers we will plant and maintain the seedlings and transplanted trees focusing on areas where there is a need, such as along stream corridors where erosion has occurred. We have begun the process by planting trees in areas of a former military base in Rome, NY that are being restored to their previous (pre-development) natural state.
With the help of financial contributions, we will purchase the young trees and supplies as well as continue with a tree maintenance program into the future. Your help will be greatly appreciated. All funds received will be utilized solely for the purpose of purchasing, planting, and maintaining the trees.
