Books for Kids

Kids need BOOKS!

Due to the impacts of Coronavirus, many families are faced with challenges they never dreamed possible. Parents are faced with trying to balance working from home, home-schooling, parenting, caring for other family members, etc. Worse, many adults and teenagers are out of work due to business closings associated with the Coronavirus response. Some families may not have internet. Even ones who do are faced with coordinating multiple family members needing the same resources for school and work. There is hardly enough time for finding resources for reading online and hardly enough money for basic needs.

Reading is so important to everyone, but especially for young children in the critical stages of learning. Resources are limited for so many of our families. That’s why a group of concerned citizens is raising money and partnering with Story on the Square to provide books to children during this time of uncertainty. All funds raised will be used to purchase books, which will be donated and distributed to families at food sites supported by the Henry County Board of Education.

Imagine what a new book could mean to a young child! How wonderful for a stressed mom to be able to sit down with her young one and read a new book at bedtime!

This could mean the world to a child right now. Please help if you can.
