Robert R Calmese Heart Transplant Fund

Donation protected

This is my Son Robert Calmese, he is 30 year old man with 2 step children and a fabulous step father I might add. I realize that if you are looking at this picture of this seemly healthy young man, it would make you think what's wrong with him? Well, Robert is very ill. Recently Robert, was diagnosed with a Genetic Heart Defect called Cardiomyopathy.
He is currently waiting on a Heart Transplant.  But before it can take place he needs to raise $5000.00 as a commitment to the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
Robert has to show that he is dedicated to receiving a heart transplant by having a fund raiser to raise five thousand dollars. In addition to that, he has to show he is going to be responsible with his New Heart & Health by following all the rules and regulations of the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
In addition to this Large amount of monies, Robert is also responsible for coming up out of pocket a sum of $2,000.00, to pay for the deductible which goes to the insurance company to get the process going. At the time the $2,000.00 was not included in this funding, because at the time my focus was on my Son life. And not on money. Thus ending up not being included with the initial amount of the fund.
But most importantly the reason for the $5,000.00 is to assure Robert a place on the transplant List. Robert is defiantly a candidate to go to the top of the list based on the requirements it takes to get on the list.
Outside of his heart issue, he is a normal healthy young man; meaning no liver or kidneys malfunctions, He has a rare blood type, so matching a heart donor shouldn't be so hard. And the real plus is he has always been a healthy physically active young man, which makes his chances of getting to the top of the List a little easier.
At this moment Robert is hook up to a IV that runs into his upper forearm and the line is inside his heart pumping a medicine called Milrinone. This medication is used for the short-term treatment of heart failure. It works by making his heart beat stronger and by relaxing certain blood vessels so that the amount of blood that is pumped from the heart is increased. This effect may help with symptoms of heart failure (such as shortness of breath, tiredness).
The Doctors plan of action to resolve this situation is the The left ventricular assist device, or LVAD, is a mechanical pump that is implanted inside a person's chest to help a weakened heart ventricle pump blood throughout the body. Unlike a total artificial heart, the LVAD doesn't replace the heart.; it just helps it do its job. This can mean the difference between life and death for a person whose heart needs a rest after open-heart surgery, or for some patients waiting for a heart transplant (called "bridge to transplant"). This is what Robert is classified as. A Bridge to Transplant.
The Georgia Transplant Foundation will then match his 5000.00 to help enable for future medicines like anti-rejection drugs and other Heart related medicines.
I'm humbly asking if 5000 people to donate $1.00 or any amount to his fund, so that he can be restored back to good health & have a second chance at a full life.
In advance I'm Thanking everyone who, will see the need and help my son raise the funds to help him get a 2nd Chance at life....... Thank You Beverly Lowe. God Bless....
