Emily Suzanne Fondren died on March 11, 2014 from complications resulting from an operation for a brain tumor. A full obituary may be viewed at
Emily's friends and friends of the family have asked "What can I do.....?". As a result of the complications leading to Emily's death, it is anticipated that expenses incurred will continue to rise. We are establishing this memorial fund to offset these expenses that may not be covered by insurance.
It is a requirement of this website that a goal be chosen. Since the billing for all of the expenses has yet to be received, it is unclear what the total will be. All proceeds received exceeding actual expenses will be used to establish The Emily Fondren Memorial Endowment.
Emily's passion was teaching, performing, and competing locally, nationally, and internationally as an Irish Step Dancer (made so popular by River Dance). Over the years, Emily saw financial hardships for some of her students and fellow competitors as they struggled to pay for travel near and far to competitions and performances. The Emily Fondren Endowment Fund will be used to aid dancers and families of the Nashville Irish Step Dancers who have a special financial need for travel to competitions and performances.
