I am a graduate student at NYU in flute performance with an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon (SKO DUCKS). I am able to live in NYC because I found work as a dog walker and am also an adjunct graduate flute instructer at NYU, teaching undergraduate non-majors.
I recently paid, with extra student loans, the school fee of $1,700 CND to go to Domaine Forget in June. I also recently had to turn down an excellent opportunity to go study in Holland at a week-long flute camp because I can't afford the expenses. As a replacement I'm seriously considering attending the National Flute Association convention in Chicago in early August instead. I haven't been to one in 2 years and it is something that will help me so much as a soon-to-be professional flutist.
It is really important that I attend camps this summer. Camps are not only becoming more expensive but I am getting older and many have an age limit I am quickly approaching. Please help me afford the rising costs of music camps and travel expenses in any amount if you can. It would mean the world to me and would help in far too many ways.
