Prayers & Blessings for Lolly's healing

Donation protected

On January 16th, after a couple days of having a fever, my sister, Lolly, started to see a couple red blisters on her nose. In a matter of hours, she was at her doctors' office being told to go immediately to the emergency room as the redness had worked its way up her nose and was starting to cause her right eye to swell.

What happened in the next couple hours was frightening as we got her to Cedars Sinai Hospital and a bed-side surgery was being performed in her hospital room within 24 hours.

She had contracted both the flu virus and strep that made its way into her blood stream and started forming an ocular abscess. She was later told that if she had waited 24 hours longer, she would most likely have died.

For any normal immune system, this would be hard to fight off, but Lolly has been dealing with Crohn's disease over the last 10 years, and takes an infusion that causes her immune system to be compromised as it is.

After the first two initial weeks in the hospital and a few days at home, a second abscess was discovered and Lolly had to rush in for an emergency surgery.

She is recovering at home now. Her eye is bandaged and healing, but the doctors say they cannot perform another corrective surgery, if needed, for a year.

Lolly is a single mom and has a 17 year old son. It goes without saying that this has been very difficult for him to deal with. She has been relying on friends and family to get her son back and forth to school, take her to her many doctors' appointments, collect groceries and pick up prescriptions.

We are looking to help Lolly and her son with their medical and family expenses, which are extensive and will continue over the next year or more.

We're constantly asked if there is anything others can do to help out, and that's why we thought a donation site would be the best way to reach the families' needs most efficiently.

Your donations will all go to helping ease the financial burden of this family and Lolly who is trying to heal.

God Bless.
