My name is Jamie Clarke. I'm asking for help for my husband who would never ask for himself. Fifteen years ago, David was in a skiing accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down. We met a few years later, fell in love and have been together ever since. This year marks our 11th wedding anniversary. David is the love of my life and best friend. I would like more than anything to be able to get him a stem cell transplant, which would change his life for the better.
After his skiing accident, the doctors said he'd never walk again. Through his determination and perserverance, he was able to walk with crutches and leg braces within a year. Over the last 15 years, he has tried many alternative therapies to help with his injury and try to regain feeling in areas of his lower body. Due to the damage done to his spine, our best chance is a stem cell transplant. We found a doctor in Arizona that has had a lot of great results. There will be months of preparatory work, a special diet and intense therapy. After researching stem cell transplants and the results that this doctor has had, I truly believe this is the answer to our prayers.
I want more than anything to help him have the active life he deserves. He's helped many people and been an inspiration to others. At this point in time, we don't have the financial means to do this on our own. Please help me raise $18,000 for the stem cell transplant.
