Corey's Fight Against Lyme Disease

In the summer of 2012, my friend Corey was unknowingly bit by a tick while working outdoors and little did he know, this tiny parasite would change his life forever. After numerous trips to the doctor for shortness of breath, random fainting, strange muscle aches and a terrible cold he just couldn't kick, he was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease, a year after the bite! Since then, Corey has been reduced from the strong, outgoing, hardworking person that would do anything for anyone in the drop of a hat, to a man that is struggling with the crippling effects of Chronic Neorological Lyme Disease. The standard treatment for Lyme Disease is antibiotics for 10-14 days, then call it good. According to FDA, Chronic Lyme Disease does not exist. His heart beats at 130 bpm, he can't grip anything with his left hand and has severe convulsions and seizures that will last several minutes. He can not work and is struggling to keep up with his household bills financially and support his wife and two son's at home. Because Chronic Lyme disease is not recognized by doctors in Iowa, so he does not qualify for disablity. His only lifeline is care outside of state at the cost of $225 / visit along with gas and hotel expenses. It is sad to watch a man who would give the shirt of his back be reduced to less than half of his abilities and watch everyone turn their back to him. One of the two sons Corey has at home is also my son Keenan. Obviously, I want my what is best for Keenan, and that is to have his Dad be around to watch him grow and to thrive as a man. $10, $20, $100... please help!
