Please help Raven

Thank you all for taking the time to look at this page. Melissa Washington, known to many is "Missy," was a lovable, fun, and hard-working soul. She brought laughter and smiles to those around her. After battling cancer for years Melissa's soul was laid to rest on March 10, 2014 at the age of 46. Melissa had worked at Reston Hospital on the surgical floor, in Reston, VA as a secretary/tech for more than 25 years and loved every minute she spent there. The friends and co-workers around her had very much become a second family to her. Throughout her years at Reston she had grown to be one of the most liked and important people to many employees, patients and friends. Melissa will surely be missed.

Melissa leaves behind her 17 year old daughter Raven whom she has raised on her own. Raven, very much a fighter like her mother, has been such a strong person through this entire situation and I believe her courage has given strength to many around her. A family friend has been kind enough to allow Raven to move into their home, but with the generous donations received, the money will go to help Raven with college and the basic needs of a teenager such as gas and clothing.
