I am trying to help a good friend raise money for a needed medical procedure and the travel expenses for his family and him to make it to California.
The friends and family of Steve Moralez are going all in. Steve has an opportunity to stop the progression of Keratoconus disease by making it to his appointment in California with Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler on April 7th.
Steve was diagnosed with this debilitating genetic disease at 21 years old while attending college. From the time Steve learned he had the disease he dedicated any time he could researching treatments and options to try to repair or maintain what he has left of his eyesight. Steve's only other option is a complete cornea transplant, which has greater risk and is more extreme.
Steve is a local Delta High School graduate who played baseball and basketball, and was actively and positively involved in and contributed to his community. Steve currently works and resides in Grand Junction with his wife and son. Steve will turn 29 years old in July and we, the friends and family, feel he is far too young to be facing vision problems of this magnitude. We are enthusiastically asking for your help to make this a successful reality for an exceptional man. Finances are the only obstacle keeping Steve from realizing his dream of healthier and less painful vision.
