The Anncredible Fight is a story that will touch your heart and compel you to act. Please help support this amazing lady in the fight of her life!
Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer in September, 2013. She is a single mom to two children, one with Cerebral Palsy. She has an extremely limited income and needs our help! No amount is too little--every dollar helps this Anncredible mom who continues to fight!!
From Ann:
"For those curious about the latest happenings with my fight to get my children back, here it is. Unfortunately, this has turned into a war that will not be easily won. Being forced to give temporary custody to save my own life means nothing in the eyes of the court. All they see is that I do not currently have custody. Nor does the court let you go back to the original joint custody agreement. And because my ex and I cannot agree on anything, the court is forced to choose one side only. Meaning, when the judge decides, he will only choose one of us to be the sole custodian of the children. No joint.
We had mediation....that lasted upwards of three hours. We did not come to a settlement. The Guardian Ad Litem requested a pyschological evaluation for my ex, which automatically means one for me as well. They each cost around $1500, to be paid by us.
I talked with my attorney at length afterwards, and she indicated that the Guardian will spend the next couple months investigating all things relating to this case.....and I am SO thankful for that. Although the bills keep piling up for her process. And my attorney will be filing some motions to compel, as we did not get all of the documentation requested in the discovery process. This will of course require MORE money to be paid to the attorney.
I asked her point blank when I can expect to have my children again IF they give them back. She said a minimum of four to six months before a final hearing. And we are looking at a full week in court, expert witnesses, regular witnesses, and everybody and his brother going on the stand. And at that point, my future role of being mother to my children will be decided by a judge who has never met me or my children. I am scared as hell. I try to be confident in knowing that I'm a great mom, and I've kept documented everything important from the day the children were born. But as we all know, nothing in life is guaranteed, no matter how good you are or how much you try.
In the meantime, I have to find a job immediately. I have been struggling living on a very small fixed income, just trying to hold out long enough to know what I need to do. I've been sending out my resume since August. And I need to find a way continue to pay these fees in order to keep fighting for my children."
