HELP International ("HELP") is non-profit organization that works across the globe to empower local community members by teaching self-sustainable skills than can be shared amongst other members of the community. Currently, HELP is working with impoverished communities in seven locations around the world, including Uganda.
I have been blessed with an opportunity to serve in the Uganda program June 13th to July 22nd, and as a volunteer I am excited that I will have the opportunity to initiate life- changing, sustainable development programs.
One area that I am personally interested in is Public Health. Volunteering in the Public Health sector gives me the opportunity to serve in a field that I hope to enter in my future career. After graduation at BYU, I plan on pursuing a nursing degree; this opportunity brings me one step closer to my long-term goal. While in Uganda I will be able to job shadow health care professionals, including nurses as well as work in schools with children-another one of my passions. My mother was born in Africa, and I have always wanted to travel to the region and serve in one capacity or another. I hope that I will be able to add value and make a difference in the lives of the people of Uganda.
As a volunteer, I am responsible to help raise my own funds to support this important initiative. My goal is to raise $8,000 by May 25th, 2014. I invite you to join me in supporting HELP International serve the people of Uganda by donating whatever you can. Every small contribution counts, and together we significantly increase the impact on communities that need it the most. All donations will go towards the program, help with travel expenses, and other supplies necessry for a successful mission in Uganda.
Funds raised herewith are donations to HELP International, to be used at HELP International's discretion. Donations are nonrefundable. HELP International is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit charitable organization. Your contributions may be tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor.
