Last November, Alan endured a severe back injury resulting in debilitating nerve pain caused by severe herniations in the disks of his L5 (Lumbar) and S1 (Sacrum), along with Lumbar Spinal Stenosis. The pain rendered him unable to sit, stand, or walk without collapsing, necessitating emergency hospitalization for two weeks. Once the pain was at a tolerable level, he was transferred to a rehab facility where he underwent two weeks of intensive rehabilitation. It was an extraordinarily difficult time.

Alan's journey towards recovery following his discharge has been marked by perseverance and determination. Through ongoing physical therapy, he’s made significant strides, thankfully avoiding the need for intrusive epidurals or surgery to this point. However, his hospitalization and rehabilitation—despite having insurance—have come with an enormous financial toll that is incredibly daunting.
