Family, friends and those I may not even know,
I humbly come before you with a simple request. As most of you know, I am passionate about healthcare and "service to all mankind". As a Registered Nurse, it is my life's duty to serve those who are in need. After much prayer and direction, I feel I have been purposed to help the less fortunate through international Mission work. With such work, I will be able to assist individuals in countries that may not have an established healthcare system, supplies or even the manpower to offer basic preventative care. I have had the privilege of traveling to Haiti over the last two years to volunteer with an amazing organization called Friends of the Children of Haiti. This organization has a long-standing medical facility that offers clinic services for two weeks every two months, year after year. The people of Haiti rely on the visionaries and many volunteers to run the clinics in order to receive the health care they otherwise would not have access to.
The clinic allows us to treat everyone from infancy to the elderly. Through hard work and focused care we are able to treat upwards of 2000 people in a very short period of time. During these trips to Haiti, many lives are changed and Hope is given. Many have said "man I wish I could help or do something like that". Well you can, not everyone may be able to make the journey physically, but everyone can be a part of the journey in other ways. Whether it be through prayer, fundraising, gathering supplies or in my case helping to financially support someone through heartfelt donations. I am preparing for my next trip May 5th and am in need of your help. Each trip costs approximately $1,700. For two weeks, this rate is amazing. The fees include airfare, room, board, insurance, cost of luggage (as we are each responsible for bringing some medical items with us) and cash that can be used to assist those impoverished citizens that may need help here or there for such things as travel or food. The total I am needing to raise is $3,400 as I will be taking two trips this year as the need has not stopped for volunteers.
I recently heard someone say it is time to "Walk in Faith" and "Live my Purpose" and with Medical Missions, I am trying to do just that. As a nurse I have seen life come and go in the blink of an eye and it is my hope to live this thing to the fullest while doing what I am purposed and destined for. I listened to a song just a few moments ago called "In Your Will" and what it simply states is that "I won't give up or give in, I'm holding on and will be steadfast. Lord no matter what, I am staying in your will". This is all I hope for in my quest to serve others. I am pleading with you in asking for your financial support and together we can make a difference. If 85 people gave $40, I can easily make this goal a reality!!! Thanks in advance!
