Hello, and thank you for visiting my campaign page! My name is Rebecca Sacks, and the thing that I really desire is to further my career as an opera singer. So, I'm asking for your help in realizing that dream.
This dream has already led me through quite a bit of education and training. I hold a bachelor's degree in music from Stanford University, and since moving to Oregon I have studied with Karen Esquivel at the University of Oregon and with Ruth Dobson in Portland with whom I currently study. I have recently been invited to sing at the Astoria Music Festival in June of 2014 as a resident young artist. This amazing program is a fantastic step for me to hone my skills as a singer and gain valuable stage experience. In the program, I will be singing the role of Dorabella in Mozart's masterpiece, "Cosi fan Tutte". This is not just a wonderful opportunity for me, but also one of my dream roles, and I am incredibly excited for the experience.
So here's where I ask for your help. Tuition for the program is $1250 plus a housing fee of $625. That's $1875, and due to the fulltime nature of this program, I will be unable to work while participating. I set the goal at $2000 because a) it's a nice round number and b)The extra will help me with incidental expenses like purchasing scores and transportation. Even if I do not reach this goal, however, I will be eternally grateful for all the help I do receive. It would mean the absolute world to me!
