Hi Friends and Family!
I am so excited to share with you what God is doing in my life. I have been given the opportunity to attend a program called YWAM, (Youth With A Mission) in January of 2015. God has placed this on my heart, and opened the doors for me to go. YWAM is a non-profit, christian missionary organization with the purpose "To Know God, and to Make Him Known."
A little bit about YWAM:
Starting January 2015, I will be embarking on what is called DTS, or Discipleship Training School. The particular DTS I am enrolled in is called Engage.This takes place in Kona Hawaii, although there are YWAM bases all over the world. There are two phases of Engage DTS. The first is the lecture phase. During this 11 week period, I will be living on the YWAM base in Kona and hearing from various guest speakers, school leaders, and other YWAM students in preperation for the outreach phase. This is a challenging, spirit lead time in which I will grow in my faith, learn about who God is and his heart for the world, learn about my identity in Christ, and the fullness that he has for me. This is all preparing for the Outreach phase of DTS. The outreach phase is 10 weeks, and the locations have not yet been determined, (they will be when I arrive in Kona). During outreach, I will be working in a cross-cultural enviroment serving the community around me and letting God use me. Depending on the location of my outreach, I could be working with churches, leading worship servies, leading prayer rooms, working in homeless shelters and clinics, orphanges, running sports camps, seeing people accept Christ into their lives, and much more. The possibilites are endless. God has given me a heart for the hurting people of this world, and I am so excited to go share the love.
This will be a life-changing trip, and I would love for you to all be a part of this journey. I also will need a lot of support, through prayer and financially. This is a going to be a challenging 6 months, as I will be away from home in an unfamiliar place. I willl be stretched, but I am expectant that it will be life-changing. Prayer is a powerful thing, and I need a lot of it! Another way of support is financially. The total cost of DTS is $10,000. That is a lot of monney, but God provides in the most incredible ways. Through this website, donations can be made to my trip. I appreciate any form of support you can offer, whether it be through prayer, finances or both.
