I would like to introduce you to Cove Lenny Christie born on May 31st at Northeast Medical Center. Cove was born 1 month early at 5 lbs 12 ounces and since has been transferred to Levine Children's Hospital Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is currently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect Aortopulmonary window and 2 Ventricular septal defect. Cove was a high risk pregnancy as most of you know Cove's dad Taylor has had 7 open surgeries and Girl Taylor went through a normal pregnancy and with all the testing and fetal echos that were done everything looked like a normal pregnancy with no issues.
Cove will have to be in the hospital for a few weeks and will have open heart surgery within the week to repair the Aortopulmonary window and the Ventricular septal defect. While we have an incredible support system there will be medical costs, travel, food, lodging that Taylor and Taylor will incur that will have to be taken care of we are asking you to support Team Cove Lenny Heart Fund to help the Taylor's out during this time.
Aortopulmonary Window is a rare congenital heart defect in which there is a connection (window) between the aorta and the main pulmonary artery. This opening allows oxygenated blood to pass, or shunt, from the aorta into the pulmonary artery at high pressure. Aortopulmonary window is rare — it accounts for less than 0.1 percent of all congenital heart defects.
With these crazy times the family has not been able to visit, see, or hold Cove and we ask for your prayers and support, all donations will be used for Cove Lenny's medical expenses and family while they navigate through this difficult time.
We would like to help Taylor and Taylor out so they can focus on Cove Lenny and not have to worry about anything else at this time so if you are able to donate please do. While our goal is $15,000 we hope to exceed this as we are well aware of the medical cost, travel, lodging, and food that it entails to be able to stay close to your child when receiving long term medical care as we have been through this before 31 years ago and hope to help them through this now, and if you are unable to donate, we understand but please say a prayer for Cove Lenny and the Taylor's .
