My mom has been known to wear many things on her head.
She rarely goes outside without a hat...
She will never pass up a good bow...
And holidays are always celebrated with head gear...

You would think she would never want to cover it up!
My mom is fighting for her life and while I leave most of that job up to her docs, I am going to do everything I can to make sure she doesn't lose this beautiful hair.
Mom has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. During the lumpectomy she had last month they were unable to remove all of the tumor and found that it was much larger than they were expecting. She will undergo another surgery in the coming months to remove the rest of the mass.
Next week she will begin the first of four rounds of chemotherapy to kill any of what they call 'sister cells' that may have traveled to another part of her body. We expect that this medicine to do just that, ensure that this cancer does not spread. But one of the types of medicine she has to have may kill more than that. It has the possibility of causing permanent hair loss. Permanent.
We cannot thank all of you enough for your kind words, thoughts of encouragement, and support you have offered since this all started in January. Many of you have asked what you can do to help and there hasn't really been anything any of us can do.
