Savannah's Study Abroad Trip to Ecuador

Dear Friends and Family:
I am wrapping up my junior year and my second year at Spelman College. When I made the decision to transfer from Howard University to Spelman College, I knew that Spelman would nurture me as a woman. Every Spelman woman that I know personally and read about are now leaders in their respective fields of study. Furthermore, the opportunities I've experienced at Spelman are endless. Needless to say, I have made the best decision.
With this being said, I will be traveling to Cuenca, Ecuador, the country's third largest city, on May10th and returning to the states on Jun 15th, 2014. While in Ecuador, I will be enrolled in a 4 week intensive Spanish immersion cultural course at Fundación Amauata Foundation. In addition to taking academic courses in Ecuador, I will spend several days in the capital city of Quito, the historic city center and the Mitad del Mundo, visiting museums and several days in the cities of Vilcabamba and Zamora visiting cultural and communal landmarks. The total cost of this trip is $3,375 and a $900 airfare. Now that I have reached my goal, for the total cost of the trip, with the support of close friends and family, I'm now believing that I can do the same for my plane ticket fee.
I believe this trip will help me appreciate even more what I have, along with learning life lessons from people who are unlike those I see everyday. I will come back to the US with a new perspective of life having experienced a new culture. The cost of the plane ticket is subject to change as my departure date gets closer. Therefore, it is imperative to have all funds together a few weeks prior to May 10th. No amount is too small whether it's $10,$25,$50,$100. I thank you so much for all of your support and I hope to hear from you soon.
