Hearse Restoration
Museum of Mortality has a hearse that is in need of restoration. The bones of this beast are in amazing condition, but she has not been treated well over the last few decades. She keeps being left to rot, and we want to get her fully restored. She has an interesting background, and we can not wait to share it with you. So stay tuned to all of our social media's for the Museum of Mortality.
She is a 1974 Cadillac Miller Meteor combo, meaning she is both a coach (hearse) and an ambulance. In 1973 the EMS act stated that all ambulances needed to be stocked to handle emergency services, not just be used for transportation. Though it did not become enacted until 1980, coach builders knew that they would need to fully separate the two into their own lines. So she comes from some of the last combo stock made. From what I can tell, there may have been about 25 made that year total so she is really rare. We have a friend digging into it.
How we came to have her is a whole other amazing story I will be telling over the next few months.
But what we need is a total overhaul from shoes, to new wiring harness, to paint. The interior will need a few things, but not as much as the outside or the engine. I hope to start putting together a parts list so if someone happens to have that part laying around you wish to send us, then we can knock that one off the list. So stay tuned as we gather all the information together.
You will also be able to follow her restoration journey through our website, social medias, and if you follow or search #AHFHEARSE
