On the first week of June, Kevin started to have neck pain and had very little mobility with it; the pain and the ability to move his neck worsened, forcing him to seek medical attention. The doctor sent him directly to the Emergency Room where they ran many different tests. Finally, after a bone marrow biopsy, he was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML).
On June 23rd he received his first Chemotherapy treatment at UCI in Orange, CA. He will need to stay there for the next month where they will monitor his treatment while working towards remission.
Kevin is single and all his family lives out of the country leaving him to face this battle with only his friends to help him. His spirits remain high and ready to fight and beat this disease.
However, he cannot do it by himself. He is currently unable to work and has depleted any sick time. He has ongoing living expenses in addition to any medical costs. That is why I am creating this fund so we can all contribute to these expenses and let him know he is not alone and that we will be supporting him in every way possible.

En la primera semana de junio, Kevin comenzó a sentir dolor en el cuello y lo podía mover muy poco, el dolor y la inmovilidad empeoraron al punto de buscar ayuda médica. El doctor lo envió directamente a la sala de emergencias donde le hicieron muchos exámenes hasta que finalmente, por medio de una biopsia de médula ósea, le detectaron Leucemia Mieloide Aguda.
El 23 de junio recibió su primera quimioterapia en el Hospital UCI en la ciudad de Orange, California. El debe quedarse este mes siguiente en el hospital para que le puedan monitorear su tratamiento y así lograr su recuperación.
Kevin está soltero y toda su familia esta fuera del país, lo cual lo deja afrontando esta batalla solo con el apoyo de sus amigos. Sus ánimos continúan bien y está listo para pelear y ganarle a esta enfermedad. Sin embargo, el no lo puede hacer solo. En este momento, no puede trabajar y ya se terminó los días de enfermedad con goce de sueldo. Tiene sus gastos mensuales normales ya ahora además, los gastos hospitalarios. La razón por la que he creado este fondo, es para que todos podamos contribuir en dichos gastos y hacerle saber que no esta solo, que lo estaremos apoyando en todas las maneras posibles.
