<div>Hello everyone, I’m Alonzo Ortiz and my wife is Karen Doane. Last year, <strong>Karen was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 1 grade 3 triple negative (breast cancer)</strong>. She underwent chemo and immunotherapy and then a double mastectomy. Sadly, other complications have arisen, such as being very weakened from treatment physically, mentally, and medically, a damaged heart valve, and now severe pneumonia in both lungs. Her right lung has collapsed in the lower part, and she is now staying in the hospital getting treatment for the pneumonia.

<div>I had to step away from working to take care of Karen full-time when chemo started as she was weakened then. Sadly, medical bills are racking up. <strong>We are actively trying to get me started as a paid caregiver and going through the process of setting her up with disability, but these are sadly long processes.</strong>

<div>Sometimes people don’t see the massive bills left after such a devastating illness even when you have great insurance to help. Karen and I have been lucky enough to have the help and support of a few very DEAR AND NEAR to our hearts family and close friends that have helped us through some of these financial, emotional, and physical difficulty’s we have been through lately. Without them we would be in a more difficult situation. We of course are very grateful and honored by any amount anyone and everyone can contribute. This is one of the hardest things we have had to go through and we thank everyone for everything the can do. I just want to ensure that Karen gets the best care possible through all this. We love you all.
