Think Smart Outreach Center, Inc. is a nonprofit youth organization that was founded in 2001. We serve over 300 students and their families per year. We are an educational based program and we offer various educational programs and we also offer a recreation program.
Our 16 U boys won the Regional Championship this past weekend and they will be heading to the State Championship this weekend (March 14-16, 2014). Our 18 U boys will also be participating in the State Championship this weekend. It is so wonderful to see how far and how much progress both teams have made throughout the years.
We are asking people to please help. As you know, we do not have a budget for our Recreation Department. Even though we receive federal funds for our educational programs; we did not receive any grant funds, state or county funds to run our successful recreational program. The money come out of individual pockets in order to help the youth keep fit, learn sportsmanship, self-confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and provide them with structure and positive activities with excellent adult role models.
We are in a very rural area and to be able to compete against "big time" cities in the State of North Carolina is an amazing opportunity. This opportunity will be a lifetime memory for these students.
Anything that you can offer is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. The funds will be used for travel and hotel fees for the youth. Again, any funds you can donate will go towards our student-athletes who will be competing on the State Level!
