We desperately need your help to get to the (FRC) World Championship this April in St. Louis!

We qualified for this prestigious international event by winning at Canada's largest FRC regional event in Oshawa last weekend. Unfortunately, the expenses associated with attending the World Championship are way beyond our budget and resources for this year.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?
The entrance fee alone is $5,000 USD, and the associated travel & accommodation expenses are quite overwhelming, too. We estimate needing at least $2000-$3000 above the registration fee, even with choosing the most frugal options for transportation and housing. Other costs, such as extra robot parts, trailer rental, and robot shipping are all adding up more quickly than we can handle. We are determined to take advantage of this chance of a lifetime, though, and ANY help you can give is incredibly appreciated!

WHO ARE WE?
We are a community FRC team from Kingston, Ontario comprised of 12 students from grades 8-12, + 6 amazing mentors. We are, simply, "W.A.F.F.L.E.S." - Wild About Friends & Family Learning Engineering & Science! Find out more about our community-based, non-profit, volunteer-run organization by visiting our website or checking out our Facebook Page .

SEE US IN ACTION!
We've put together 2 videos so far this season.
The first video is "The Reveal" of this year's robot, Mackenzie:

The second one is a recap of the Greater Toronto East Regional tournnament in Oshawa:

ONEMATCH.CA - WE'RE RAISING AWARENESS:
One of our community outreach goals this year is to raise awareness of OneMatch Stem Cell & Marrow Network. Our robot, Mackenzie, is named in honour of a local teen, who recently found her donor match through onematch.ca. Please take a minute to find out more about this life-saving registry!

WHAT IS FIRST®?
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization which strives to inspire students to explore careers and further studies in fields such as science, technology, engineering and math.

FRC teams are challenged to design, build and program a robot in an intense six week period, while working alongside mentors to learn valuable skills in a hands-on environment. While preparing for competitions, students learn a multitude of valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their careers and personal lives. Teamwork, effective time management, and strong problem solving skills are fundamental to the success of the team. The impact on students can be life changing, as they are exposed to new opportunities and discover untapped potential.

Please help us continue this incredible journey of learning!
