Life Saving Stem Cell Treatment

Donation protected
I was living in Florida in August 2013 when I came to Colorado to visit my family.  I had heard that my sister had a rare disease called Enteric Neuropathy and as a result she was unable to eat because her digestive system was only functioning at .05 percent.  It caused her great pain.  In June of 2013 she had an illiostomy at the Mayo Clinic and had an appointment to go back and get a feeding tube. They said there wasn't much they could do for her but to try to keep her comfortable.  This disease has a high rate of morbidity and mortality.  When I saw her I couldn't believe she was the same person.  Without her clothes, she looked like a prisoner from a Jewish concentration camp. The nerves in her esophagus were causing chronic hoarseness and it felt like big spiders crawling in her throat. Then I realized that my sister was slowly dying.  I decided that I needed to move there and take care of her.  By September I was moved in with her.

We researched to find some way to save her life.  We came acros stem cell treatment.  We researched a few places and didn't find them viable.  Then we came across NuTech Mediworld in New Delhi, India. They use embryonic stem cells from couples who donated in order to have a baby.  Instead of throwing away the eggs they aren't going to use they use them to save lives.

With the help of family and friends, we raised the money to go in December 2013. Rose and I were there for 2 months.  In the second month we began to notice that for the first time in 2 years she was able to eat.  She also started to put on a little weight.  The spiders in her throat were gone.  The treatment was working.  Although she is not out of the woods, the progression still needs to be slowed down and hopefully stopped. We need to go back in September to continue the treatment.  The first time we raised money we had no idea if this would work.  Now we know that it does. She still has so much life to live and she has so many things left to accomplish.

Please make donations to save the life of my sister Rose Marie Steffenson.

Thank you.

Rose is enjoying a bowl of Cornflakes.
