Help Us Rebuild Our Home

*Update: thank you so much for everyone who has contributed so far.  Info and plans are fluid, but it seems that we are going to rebuild a bridge before us or any of our neighbors can do any cleanup or rebuilding.  Lag time for insurance could be long, so between that and loss of income, this will be super helpful.

Friends, family, perfect strangers; you may be aware of the catastrophic wildland fires that devastated large parts of Sonoma and Napa counties and the surrounding areas.  Natalie and I lost our home, which was a granny-unit on Natalie's parent's property.  Our home, her parent's home, her brother's home, her father's woodworking shop, our two gardens, and our chicken coop were all reduced to rubble.  The chickens did not survive, but Natalie, our two girls, Nat's folks and Nat's brother all made it out safe with the three cats, but with nothing more the the clothes on our backs, the contents of our bug-out-bags, and whatever happened to be in our cars.  In addition to our homes, one of my places of work was impacted, the extend of which is unclear, but I won't be working there any time soon.

We are safe and secure at my folks' place and feeling lots of love and support from friends and family: Everyone keeps asking how to help.  

At this point, we have food, shelter, and clothing, but the road to rebuilding from the ashes is going to be long and insurance is probably going to fall short of putting together three homes.  All of you who know me, know that I am not particularly good at accepting help, let alone asking for it, I'm going to have to learn.  So if you feel compelled to help in some way, money is going be welcome and apprieciated and useful.  It is hard to put to words how hard this experience has been thus far and equally hard to express how up lifting everyone's concern and love have been.  Thank you, much love.
