Ride for Hannah

Hannah was about to become the latest PortfolioMetrix partner, when she was struck down with cancer for the third time. We decided that we would like to arrange a sponsored cycle from Rutland (the home of one of our partners: Efficient Portfolio) back to our office in London. We hope to raise a good chunk of money to help Hannah beat her cancer and get back to join the PortfolioMetrix Community.

Below is Hannah's message:
"At the age of 36, I have just been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in 3 years. This time though it's really bad. It turns out that the breast cancer has spread to my liver and my lung and my life is on the line. I am not ready to leave this world yet, I have so much more to give.
The biggest fear that I have right now is money, I run a fledgling business, which I started after finishing the last lot of cancer treatment and keeping a roof over my head while I go through this journey is a terrifying thought. It is so important that I manage my stress levels whilst I climb this mountain.
Surviving this is going to take more than just chemo, which is the only option I have through the NHS and as my cancer was resistant to the last two lots of chemo, I need to take a holistic approach. I need to cure this through mind, body, spirit and nutrition. I have a long journey in front of me and I may need to go overseas for treatment. All of this costs a huge amount of money and I really need your help.
To start with I would like to raise £25,000 to get me going. It is likely that I will need to raise this target as I go along as the costs mount up. But helping me get to this initial target would make a huge difference to my recovery and peace of mind."
