Hope for Hailey

Hailey Stone is a 15 year old freshman at Heritage High School who was diagnosed in July 2010 with a brain tumor called Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma. Hailey has had five different rounds of chemotherapy, a round of radiation, one surgery for a partial resection of the tumor, a shunt and eleven different surgeries for the shunt revision. Hailey's family has traveled all over the United States in search of new treatments. Unfortunately, the tumor has been very aggressive and has been considered terminal. After being in and out of the Atlanta hospital and most recently TC Thompson in Chattanooga, Tennessee, they have sent Hailey home with Hospice Care. Hailey is starting a new chemotherapy in order to decrease the swelling in her brain in order to make things more comfortable. With the recent news of Hailey being placed on hospice, her family is wanting to spend as much time as possible with her. Hailey's mom has not been able to work due to 100% care of Hailey for the past several years. Her father has recently taken a leave of absence from his job to spend quality time with Hailey. We are holding several fund raisers to help with monthly bills (rent, electric, water, car payments, gas money for traveling to the doctor's appointment, etc). In addition, the family has been faced with making future funeral arrangements for her and they do not have the funds saved for these expenses. It is our wishes that Hailey's family gets to enjoy quality time with each other while not having any financial burden to add to their stress. They also have two other children besides Hailey that need our prayers.
