Before his accident, 19-year-old Trevor Crowe was much like most young men- He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, working out, hiking, being active, and having a good time. He worked as a "Canine Happiness Officer" at a doggie daycare and boarding facility and was an honest, hardworking, dedicated member of the staff. He was always willing to lend a hand, and would do anything asked of him without complaint, with a big smile on his face. He wasn't just a good kid, he was a great kid.

Friday, February 28th, 2014 started out just as any other typical work day for Trevor, but quickly became a day that would change his life completely. At approximately 6:50 am while driving to work in a heavy rainstorm, Trevor lost control of his car on Marsh Creek Road in Clayton, California and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. He suffered severe head trauma in the accident and had to be airlifted from the scene. Upon his arrival at Kaiser Vacaville, Trevor underwent emergency neurosurgery to save his life. The days that followed were difficult but news was continually positive. Just a few days after his accident Trevor was taken out of sedation, and off of the ventilator.

In the two weeks since the accident, Trevor has continued to progress quickly, and is surprising everyone, including his surgery team, doctors, and nurses, with his ability to overcome his severe injuries. He has just been moved to a rehabilitation facility, and continues to progress everyday. He is a model patient, and his quick progress is a very positive sign.

As with the nature of brain injuries, the road to recovery will be long, and progress, while positive so far, will be slow. Trevor's mother Karen, and Father Jerry have been at his side since the accident. They are extremely thankful and feel blessed by all of the thoughts and well wishes being sent from people far and wide.

After his stay at the rehab facility, Trevor will be able to come home. In the beginning, they expect he will need 24 hour homecare to help him with his recovery. They doctors have stated that it could take up to a year for him to recover.

The last thing that Trevor's family should have to worry about is how they are going to pay the numerous bills that are already beginning to add up. They should be able to focus on helping Trevor get better, and not have to be concerned with how they will be able to afford the cost of his ongoing medical care.
