Papa Ace's Medical Care

Donation protected
Sadly, our beloved and adorable Papa Ace has cancer that is attacking his spleen—a fatal condition if left untreated. Most of you reading this already know and love Papa Ace, but for those of you who don't let me tell you a little bit about him. Papa Ace was adopted by our favorite dog trainer, Cindy. When adopted seven years ago, Papa Ace had some behavioral challenges to overcome, which he was able to do from the excellent training Cindy provided to him.  The fruits of Cindy’s labor paid off; consequently Papa Ace has been able to assist Cindy with the many dogs that come to training. Personally, I know Papa Ace has helped both my dogs and myself.

Just four weeks ago, Cindy noticed Papa Ace’s belly had become extended, painful to the touch and he was just not his normal playful self. She took him to the vet where he received a complete blood panel.  Cindy’s worst fears materialized, she was told by the Veterinary that Papa Ace did in fact have cancer.

Cindy, devastated by the diagnosis, knew that she needed to desperately provide Ace with every possible chance for survival. She knew however that this would not be an easy road for either of them; the time and energy it takes to help Ace is acutely being felt, not to mention the emotional and financial stress.  Treatment from both Eastern and Western medicine, and the power of prayer are currently being utilized. Cindy has spoken with the experts and they have given her hope. The option with the best possible outcome is to get him into remission. Cindy would like to take it a step further and provide him alternative treatment when he completes his chemo. With these treatments we can extend Papa Ace’s life. He has so much more to give to us and to future Dog Help Now clients.

The life expectancy of his breed is 12-14 years, with some living even 15-16 years. Ace is 9 years old and loves life; he lives to make others happy. It is hard to imagine not doing everything humanly possible to save his life. The good news for Cindy is that are protocols that can be life saving for Papa Ace. To do so, means having to curtail her business hours. With loss of income, plus the insurance co-payments and additional medicines and foods not covered, the accumulative cost to Cindy is estimated at $30,000.00 or more.  This is a burden that no one  should have to endure.

If we can get this message out to as many of our friends and family and if everyone can donate $5.00 or more, we have a chance to save Papa Ace.

Thank you in advance for your donations, your thoughts and your prayers!
