Da'Yana Johnson Medical Donations

Donation protected
This is as donation page setup for 12 yr old Da'Yana Johnson. She is a resident of Hendersonville, Tn and lives with both of her parents DeMarco & Lateasha Johnson. Da'Yana is an Honor Roll Student at Hawkins Middle School and has before been nominated as a "Student of the Month". She loves playing sports such as softball, volleyball and she even played basketball for her school for the 2013-2014 school year. On January 17th Da'Yana was asked to join the Jr. Honor Society of Sumner County Schools, which is a real honor, especially since the Honor Society will be taking a Trip to Florida in early May This Year.
On January 18, 2014 Da'Yana had a seizure while she was out with her bestfriend and her friend's mother. As we (parents) quickly rushed to meet them at the hospital, we began to brainstorm on what was wrong with our perfectly healthy happy child. Little did we know what was to lie ahead of us for the next 8 hours or 19 days or 6 months.
Da'Yana was taken to Sumner Regional Medical Center where she was checked out by the doctors, that concluded that the seizure was nothing to worry about and that she would be fine. While the doctor was in the room giving us discharge papers, she has another seizure.... OH NO!! THIS CHANGES THINGS! Yana and her family were then sent to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt to have some tests done. In the Ambulance on the way to the hospital she suffers another seizure...this is 3 in 3 hours.
When we arrive to Vanderbilt, the doctors and nurses are doing any and everything that they can to help her(us) to get comfortable. As the night goes, she has several more seizures, each one progressing to being worse than the last one. Evey test imaginable had be taken so far, an EKG, EEG, MRI, CatScan, blood culture, urine sample and even a spinal tap. By the end of the night, after having 8 seizures in 7 hrs. Da'Yana was left in a "catatonic" state. Da'Yana & her family spent 19 days in the hospital before being sent home diagnosed with "anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis". She has a brain infection caused from the flu-mist that results in her needing infusion treatments at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital For the next 6 months. There is no certainty that she will fully recover from the "Anti-NMDA infection that she has, BUT we know that GOD IS ABLE!
Thank you!
