Wesley and Katryna IVF Fund

Thank you for reading!

My wife and I have created this GoFundMe Page for my cousin Wesley and his wife Katryna. Wesley and Katryna have been trying for children for the past few years. They are wonderful people and we are so happy to have them in our lives. I deeply believe that they deserve their own children in their lives and that any children they bring into this world will be greatly blessed to have them as parents.

Here is some backstory on who they are:

Katryna graduated Nursing school in 2012 and has been slowly working on her BSN ever since, maintaining a job all the while. She is currently working (since April 2013) as an ER Nurse. Wesley has been working on pre-requisites for dental school, and turned in his application last year. He has been accepted to dental school to start this fall. He has been working multiple "as needed" jobs along with doing volunteering and shadowing as required for dental school. He is also the Vice president of a new organization- the UNM American Association of Public Health Dentistry. Both Wesley and Katryna teach on Sunday for their church. It has been a lot of work for them both to attend school while keeping up with other responsibilities.

Here is what Wesley and Katryna have to say about what they have been through and why they have decided to take this course:

"We have been trying to have a child for a few years. In 2012 we started seeing a fertility specialist. Not knowing what was wrong, the first Doctor suggested we first try all of the relatively inexpensive steps that tend to fix a lot of the more common fertility problems. We went through a lot of different drugs and many more tests. After becoming slightly frustrated with the Doctor we were seeing, we decided to look at other options. After settling on a new Doctor that was highly suggested by friends, we went through 4 rounds of IUI with no luck.
The next step for us now is In-vitro. We have looked into adoption (since we eventually want to foster/adopt), but after much prayer and consideration felt like at this point in our lives in-vitro was the best way for us to proceed.
We have spoken with our Doctor and he has told us that if we want to proceed with this process to have children, now is the time for us to do this.
Despite the cost of moving and going to dental school we are committed to making in-vitro work despite our insurance not covering anything."

Katryna says:

"I can say that this process has been one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. It's filled with a lot of ups and downs. We have been filled with heartbreak and disappointment on several occasions. We are really hopeful that IVF will work for us. We are so eager to be parents and share our love with our little ones. We have so much love to share."

This is what their costs look like for the process:

Procedure- $16,000

Medications- $2,300

Genetic embryo testing- $3,000

Anesthesia- $500

"We do not like to ask for help, and believe in working hard to support ourselves. We also believe in and try hard to help others. We have a great desire to be parents. Due to the large costs, we felt that we should ask for help from those who are in a situation to do so.

Rest assured, we will pay it forward!

Thank You for your help!"
