Cindy was going on 14 years of perfect attendance at her job as a fraud investigator at ****** bank in Las Vegas when she was suddenly stricken with transverse myelitis this past August.
Anyone that has had the pleasure of knowing Cindy, either in Las Vegas or in her home state of Reading, Massachusetts knows what a kind, helpful and loving soul she is. She deeply and sincerely cares for her friends and family, always ready with a kind word or a smile.
Now she needs our help. Transverse Myelitis is a devastating illness, which strips nerves of their protective sheath, leaving paralysis, painful spasms and devastating weakness in its wake. Cindy has remained in a rehab these past several months, and now, due to insurance running out for physical therapy, she's being sent home.
Cindy is unable to care for herself, unable to walk, unable to open simple food containers. We all want Cindy back in Massachusetts where there are more family members to aid in her care. Where she can be among family as well as her husband, Mickey, who has single handedly been managing her care in Vegas.
We are raising funds to pay for a med flight to Boston, which will cost approximately 25,000, and funds to help Mickey with the staggering medical expenses that are piling up.
