Hello all!
My name is Kamille Cheatham, and I am currently a Junior at the University of Tennessee majoring in Kinesiology. My passion for aiding physically disabled individuals and mentoring children has inspired me to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist. In order to gain more experience in this field, I have applied and been accepted to participate in a competitive study abroad program with the Australian Sporting Industry this summer.
During this course, I will be introduced to the Australian sports system, which will encompass a plethora of subject areas and be of interest to a variety of students involved in sports, marketing, management, fitness, and kinesiology. I will also have the unique opportunity to increase my marketing skills by marketing sports the Australian way, gaining an insight on nutrition, sports research, psychology, and human movement and fitness.
Although this study abroad program is a rewarding opportunity, this experience is costly. I am a firm believer that faith without work is dead, which is why I have discovered various resources to help fund my trip, including applying for multiple scholarships as well as creating this fundraising account. The overall cost including airfare, tuition, meals, excursions, travel fees, and room accomodations is $5,205. Because this trip is only three weeks, it is considered a mini-term summer program, which does not allow me to use my Hope Scholarship. Beginning my trip at a balance of zero, I will be self-funding to reach this goal.
