Two years ago in February my mother, Luisa Rainone was diagnosed with borderline Stage 4 Uterine Cancer.She had a complete histarectomy and then began intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. There were a few complications throughout this process but at the end of treatment the Doctors said they got it all. Her hair grew back and her spirits came alive again. Not even a year went by and a catscan showed her cancer had metastasized and caused multiple tumors to grow in her liver and abdomen. Doctors said this type of cancer will keep coming back. They were only hoping to manage the size and the growths of the tumors by more chemotherapy.
After 9 weeks of extensive chemo treatments and losing her hair again, the cat scan showed the tumors were shrinking,some even dissapearing. With that great news we continued forward with 9 more weeks of chemo.
On tuesday we just got back the catscan results and unfortunately my mothers body didn't respond to the chemo as it did before and all the tumors grew back and grew larger than before. We also learned that her cancer is aggressive and they found a cancerous lymph node in her chest.
Luisa is the most generous and caring person i know. Shes an amazing mother of two, a great wife and one of the best friends anyone can have. She has a heart of gold and doesn't deserve any of this. She has been part of many fundraisers for others, and now i think its time we give back.
My mom has always wanted to go to Ireland, but with extensive medical bills that never seem to end, it worries me that she will never get there at this pace. I am hoping that setting up this fund will help get her to Ireland soon before she gets too sick to travel.She has never left the country before and i believe this will truly be an unforgettable experience for her.
Please help pass this along and hopefully we can all get her to Ireland because she certainly deserves it.
