In 2019 alone, 22,840 people died from leukemia. This form of cancer, which makes up 3.5% of the cancer population in America, has seen an annual increase in its case count as time has progressed. As high school students, we realize that we cannot yet make an impact as health professionals, but by partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, we will be doing what we can to help support blood cancer patients. We are also aware that the funds we raise will go towards research for blood cancer, pushing us one step closer to curing such a fatal disease. It is an honor participating as a team to help making sure Leukemia will one day stop impacting any more human lives. As researchers, it is our job to create a promising future for the generations to come by relieving the current strain of blood cancer deaths and ensuring the delivery of effective, quality medical care.
