Hi, my name is Eric Russell, and I’m reaching out for support during one of the most difficult times in my life. For the past 10 years, I’ve been battling diverticulitis, which has recently led to constant hospital visits and now surgery. Between hospitalizations, surgery, and recovery, work has been near impossible. But bills and debts keep piling up in the meantime.
More than that, right before I had to go in for surgery, I had a small vehicular accident. While driving on I-95, my car struck a large piece of metal trash. Thankfully, nobody was hurt except my car. The damage includes a dislodged bumper, my driver's light is out, and an array of warnings on my dashboard. This is how I make my bills, and I can't operate it after dark. I do have insurance, but the deductible is steep, and the insurance company is giving me trouble over it.
My surgical timing is unfortunate as I’m also caring for my son, Brent, who lives with me now. I want to give him every opportunity I can for a better future, even while I’m fighting through my own challenges with work and my health.
Currently, I’m reaching out for a little help from my friends, family, and anyone who can offer support. Your generosity would go toward:
- Covering my lost wages from time spent in the hospital
- Covering my lost wages while recovering from surgery
- Keeping up with essential bills and living expenses while I recover
- Repairs for my car, which I need for work and medical appointments
- Supporting Brent as I continue to care for him
- Providing a safety net so I can heal and return to my community
I’ve always tried to be someone who shows kindness and support to others, and now I find myself in a place where I need to lean on that same kindness. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to my son and me. Seriously, ANYTHING helps.
Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, and for helping us through this very rough time.
