This fund is for my sister Roberta Elizabeth Romero, a hard working single mother of two children, who loved life, nature and people. A brilliant make-up artist that always had a positive spirit, even through the most challenging situations she encountered in life.
Those who know Roberta learned to love her adventurous bohemian spririt. She promoted and shared her passion for art and music. As an artist she painted her life on canvas. She was fond of plants and cacti, and called her small collection "my little girls".
Around Thanksgiving she became ill with the flu. She continued to work in a cold, refrigerated environment in order to provide for her children. Her health declined and developed into pneumonia, which has irreversabily damaged her lungs and heart.
She was airlifted from a Delano hospital to USC medical center when her condition worsened. After 3 months of fighting for her life in ICU her condition has become terminal, and is on life support. The doctors say that she is very weak and can die at any time.
We are asking for donations, preparing for the inevitable. 100% of the donations will go directly towards the cost of her memorial service. Any additional donations raised will be for the emotional, psychological and physical needs of her surviving children.
She leaves behind two children, along with her adored mother, siblings and a host of loving relatives and friends, who will mourn her.
She will always be our caring sister, a loving daughter and a good and loyal friend.
